FOCRTII AMUAL REPORT OF THE VESTRY.
PREFATORY NOTE.
In accordance with the provisions of the Act of the 18th and 19th years of the
present reign, commonly called the " Metropolis Local Management Act," the Vestry
submits to the Ratepayers the following Report, being for the year ending at Ladyday,
1860.
The Act provides that a copy of the Vestry's Annual Report shall be supplied to
any applicant " on payment of such reasonable sum, not exceeding twopence, as may
be fixed by the Vestry." The Vestry, however, in order that the Parishioners may
have the fullest information respecting their affairs, has resolved to provide a larger
number of copies of the Report than in previous years, and to supply one without
charge to every Parishioner who shall apply for it.
The Ratepayers will find that the efforts of the Vestry to meet the exigencies of
the Parish with the greatest possible economy have so far been crowned with success,
that the General Rate will, in the next collection, be reduced from 10c/. in the
pound to 9c?.
The subject matter of the present Report is arranged according to the Table of
Contents on the opposite page.
