64 samples of New Zealand second grade cheese were submitted for bacteriological examination during 1971 with the following results:—

Brands with counts in excess of 500,000 per gram were destroyed. The remainder
of the cheese was allowed to go for processing.
First Grade Cheese
11 samples of New Zealand first grade cheese and 4 samples Czechoslovakian
Cheddar Cheese were submitted and found to be satisfactory.
