TUBERCULOSIS DISPENSARY
The work of the Dispensary continues to be exceptionally
heavy. The number of notified eases of Tuberculosis shows a
slight increase on the previous year. Dr. Pritchard reports
that the Scheme for Domiciliary treatment of Tuberculosis
Patients has continued during the year and has grown. Whilst
one docs not advocate or suggest that this form of treatment is
bettor than a Sanatorium or Hospital, we do feel that it is of
extreme value in an attempt to control the disease in view of
the very long waiting period which is now necessary before
admission to a Sanatorium or Hospital. An analysis of the first
hundred cases shows very good results and comparable with those
obtained in hospital. This work, of course, has meant a great
deal of extra work for the whole of the clinical staff
doctors, health visitors and clerks. The London County Council
has co-operated by supplying two ambulances a week for the
transport of pationt3 to and from the Clinic.
