In addition 53 cwts of bedding, household effects etc. were also
destroyed. 24 pairs of boots and 44 steel helmets were treated with
formalin.
Pis infection.
The total number of disinfections of rooms during the year by the
Council's disinfecting staff was 331. Of this number 289 rooms were
disinfected after the occurrence of the ordinary notifiable infectious
diseases, and 42 after cases of phthisis.

872 verminous rooms were sulphured and otherwise cleansed by the Council's staff during the year.
