DISINFECTION.
The total number of disinfections of rooms during the year by the
Council's disinfecting staff was 7,037. Of this number 3,215 rooms were
disinfected after the occurrence of the ordinary notifiable infectious
diseases, as against 2,827 rooms in 1924. 3,822 periodical sprayings of
rooms occupied by Phthisical patients were also carried out during the
year.
671 verminous rooms were sulphured and otherwise cleansed by
the Council's staff during the year, as against 596 in 1924.
Among the total number of disinfections (7,037) it was found
necessary to strip 357 rooms. Of these 302 were in relation to the
notifiable diseases, 54 after the termination of cases of Phthisis, and
1 was verminous.

4 tons 12 cwt. 5 lbs. of horse hair and 1 parcel of flock were also
disinfected at the Depots. 1 parcel of flock was destroyed.
