DISINFECTION.
The total number of disinfections of rooms during the year by the
Council's disinfecting staff was 6,845. Of this number 2,774 rooms were
disinfected after the occurrence of the ordinary notifiable infectious
diseases, as against 1,829 rooms in 1920. 3,585 periodical sprayings of
rooms occupied by Phthisical patients were also, carried out during the
year.
486 verminous rooms were sulphured and otherwise cleansed by
the Council's staff during the year, as against 551 in 1920.
Among the total number of disinfections (6,815) it was found
necessary to strip 839 rooms. Of these 702 were in relation to the
notifiable diseases, 136 after the termination of cases of Phthisis, and
1 was verminous.
