The following work of supervision was carried out by Mr. David
until April 16th, and after his death by Mr. Nicholson from April 25th
to the end of the year : —
MILKSELLERS.
During 1921, 572 names remained on the Register of Milksellers,
74 new names were added, and 48 names removed during the year. The
total number of milksellers on the Register actually selling milk at the
end of the year was 276. There were 296 premises on the Register
where milk was not being sold at the end of the year.
The sale of milk was discontinued at 22 premises, and the business
of milkseller was newly started in 26 instances.
1,761 inspections of the various milkshops were made. The following
nuisances were discovered, in respect to which 51 intimation and 8
statutory notices were served :—
Dirty milkshops 42 cases
Dirty utensils 1 case
Dirty milkstore 2 cases
Defective floors 3 cases
Defective ceiling 1 case
Paraffin oil sold 1 case
Other insanitary conditions 7 cases
Total 57 cases
All the above nuisances were remedied.
NOXIOUS TRADES.
There are two premises in the Borough upon which noxious
businesses or trades are carried on.
