Defects.—The house structure is worn out. there is no damp course in the walls and the walls are damp, the woodwork of the house, such as the floors, windows, doors, partitions and stairs, is old, worn out and dilapidated. The internal arrangement of the rooms of the house is bad, and the staircase is narrow, the closet accommodation is bad, the roof is defective, the back yard is small and the through ventilation of the house is bad.

Works necessary to be done.—Eepair the roofs so as to make them wind and watertight, provide new eaves. gutters and rain water pipes, make good the cracked and defective walls, repoint the brickwork, provide new stone sills to the windows, provide a damp proof course in the walls, repair the defective floors, window frames and sashes, doors and frames. provide proper fastenings to the doors, repair stoves and firegrates, strip and cleanse the dirty walls and ceilings, repair defective plaster, repave the yard in front of the house with hard and impervious material, screen off the water closets from the house, repair and cleanse the water closets. amend defective drains.2/1/12
