Works necessary to be done.—To make the roof watertight. Take clown or cut out and rebuild the cracked or bulging brickwork in the back wall of the house. Rake out and repoint the loose, cracked or open joints of the brickwork in the remainder of the house walls. Insert a damp proof course in the external wails of the house extending throughout their whole thickness at the level of not less than six inches below the level of the lowest floor. Any part of these walls above the damp proof course abutting against the earth shall be protected by material impervious to moisture. Cover the site of the house with good concrete six inches in thickness and smoothed on the upper surface. Cut out and make good the defective yard paving. Repair the defective brickwork of the water closet and rake out and repoint the mortar joints. Repair or reinstate with new all defective window frames, sashes, sash cords and fasteners, all defective doors and door frames, and all defective sills. Repair, or replace with new, the lock furniture and box staples to the outer and room doors, and cupboard furniture to the cupboard doors, where such furniture and staples are absent or defective. Take out and reinstate with new any defective floor boards or floor joists.

Take up and reinstate with new any defective boards or floor joists. Repair or renew the worn or defective stair treads.
