All the cases were visited and inquired into. Breast feeding of
babies was recommended by circularising and visiting as usual. In the
poorer parts of the borough the leaflet "Precautions to be taken to
prevent Summer Diarrhæa'' was widely distributed.
The annual death-rate from Diarrhæa per 1,000 living was 0.50.
Deaths from diarrhæa during the last ten years:—

TYPHUS FEVER.
No death occurred from this disease during the year, and no case
was notified.
