Of the 284 cases notified 276, or 97.2 per cent., were removed to
hospital with 25 deaths, a mortality of 9.0 per cent., whilst in the 8
cases treated at home there were 2 deaths, a mortality of 25.0 per cent.
The Wards most affected were St. Mary, Trinity and St. Michael's,
in the order named.
ENTERIC FEVER.
The deaths from Enteric Fever in the borough during the year
numbered 4, as against 5, 7 and 6, in the three preceding years.
The total number of cases notified was 39 for the present year, and
45, 54 and 35, for the three preceding years.
The percentage of deaths to the total number of cases notified
was 10.3.
The annual mortality per 1,000 living was 0.02.
