Committee to take the necessary steps to advertise the
appointment.
This arrangement was confirmed at a later meeting of the Council:—
Extract from Council's Minutes of 17th July, 1912.
Woman Sanitary Inspector and Health Visitor.
The Council will no doubt remember that at its meeting on the 15th
May last, the Committee submitted a full report upon the question
with regard to the discharge of the duties of Woman Sanitary
Inspector and Health Visitor in the Borough, and recommended—
(a) That, in future, Miss Wilkinson, Woman Sanitary Inspector,
be required to supervise the inspection of about 600 houses
let in lodgings or occupied by members of more than one
family, and that the remainder of the houses on the register
be allocated to the Ward Inspectors.
(b) That in lieu of advertising for a Woman Sanitary Inspector
in the place of Miss Blackwell, a Health Visitor be
appointed. . . .
These arrangements were reported to the Local Government Board
for confirmation, and a communication has now been received
from the Board approving of the proposals.
The Committee feel that the Council is to be congratulated that this
difficult question has now been satisfactorily settled.
