year 1909.
The total number of cases notified, including Membranous Croup,
was 256 for this year, and 270 for the preceding one.
The percentage of deaths to the total number of cases notified was
12.9.
The annual mortality per 1,000 living was 016.

Of the 256 cases notified 244, or 95 3 per cent., were removed to
hospital with 26 deaths, a mortality of 10.7 per cent., whilst in the 12
cases treated at home there were 7 deaths, a mortality of 58.3 per cent.
The Wards most affected were St. Michael's, St. George's, St. Mary's
and All Saints', in the order named.
ENTERIC FEVER.
The deaths from Enteric Fever during the year numbered 6, as
against 7, 11, 12, in the preceding three years.
The total number of cases notified was 35 for the present year, and
48, 80 and 111 for the preceding three years.
