SMOKE NUISANCES.
During the year complaints were received at the Public Health
Office from persons other than the Council's Officers in regard to 105
nuisances from smoke occurring on different days.

The undermentioned are premises in respect to which more than one complaint was so received:—

In regard to the nuisances from black smoke observed by the Council's
Inspectors summonses were taken out in six instances, the particulars of
which are as follows
The City of London Electric Lighting Company, Ltd., four
summonses; fined £10, and 2/- costs on each of three
summonses, and £5 and 2/- costs on the fourth. Total, £35,
and 8/- costs.
Messrs. Hoe & Co., fined £5,. and 2/- costs.
Mr. Carl Griesbach, 61, Westmoreland Road, fined £1, and 2/- costs.
