Report on the condition of the Drainage of the Public Schools of the Borough.
The following report was submitted to the Public Health Committee:—
The Report on the condition of the "Provided" and " Non- provided'' Schools shews that the public schools of the Borough at
the present time are in a highly satisfactory condition.
In the whole Borough there were only three schools found, after a severe examination, to require reconstruction of the drainage.
In the group of " Non-provided " Schools, which number twenty-four, one school is about to be closed and the drainage was
not examined, eight require slight amendment of the drainage, six require important amendment, two require reconstruction, and seven
are in perfect order.
Of the "Provided" schools, the number of which is twenty- nine, seven require slight amendment of the drainage, two require
important amendment, one requires reconstruction of the drainage, and nineteen are in perfect order.
The test in each case consisted in filling the drain and man- holes with water.
