SMOKE NUISANCES.

The undermentioned premises are those in relation to which more than one complaint was made:—

Southwark Council's Electric Lighting Station, Penrose street3

In regard to the nuisances from black smoke observed by the Council's
Inspectors summonses were taken out in five instances, the particulars of
which are as follow:—
Messrs. Hoe & Co., Borough road, fined £5, and 2/- costs.
Messrs. Hamlyn & Co., Thames Grain Drying Wharf, Upper Ground
street, fined £3, and 2/- costs.
The City of London Electric Lighting Company, Ltd., Bankside,
fined £10 and 2/- costs.
Messrs. Barclay Perkins & Co., Ltd., The Brewery, Park street
fined £2, and 2/- costs.
Messrs. Travers & Sons, 54, Bankside, fined £3, and 2/- costs.
