DISINFECTION.
The number of rooms disinfected during the year was 2356, of which
757 were stripped ; 2797 rooms were disinfected in the year 1902. Disinfection
has been carried out periodically in every instance where a
case of Phthisis was notified.

Special disinfection was carried out by the officials of this department
at the following premises, applications having been made to me by
the authorities concerned.
Belief Station, Boyson Road:—(after Small-pox.
Michael Faraday Schools; 2 class rooms (after Measles).
Flint Street Schools:—2 class rooms (after Measles).
Beresford Street Schools:—6 class rooms (after Measles).
Salvation Army Shelter, Blackfriars Road:—Sleeping dormitories
(after Small-pox).
Christchurch Workhouse and Relief Station:—4 wards, passages and
water closets (after Small-pox).
Collier's Bent Mortuary:—After Diphtheria.
The amount of bedding, &c., treated at the disinfecting station was
not so large as in the previous year. This, of course, was owing to the
small number of eases of notifiable diseases occurring during the year.
