The 2 possible cases were members of the same family and the
cause of the illness was unsound chocolate roll, the vendor of which
was cautioned.
All patients recovered without serious illness.
Certification of Certain Food Products for Export to the Dominions and
Foreign Countries.
In view of the requirements of the Food Laws in operation in the
Dominions and elsewhere, the system of certification for food products
which are derived from the flesh of cattle, sheep, swine or goats, or from
game or poultry, and are prepared or packed in England and Wales for
export, has been continued.
178 visits were paid to factories and 22 tons 7 cwts. 3 qrs. 1st.
3lbs. of foodstuffs were inspected and passed for export. 4 Turkeys
were also certified for export.
Certificates were issued in connection with 80 consignments of
foodstuffs: Canada (3), Australia (51), United States of America and
Dependencies (11), India (9), other countries (6).

Notices were received from time to time from the Port of London
Sanitary Authority respecting tallow which had been released under
suitable guarantees for soapmaking, lubricating oils, etc.

During 1938 the Committee approved 45 re-entries and 1 new entry
in the Council's list.
