64 infants were admitted during the year and made an average stay of 31.6 days each. The reasons for admissionwere as follows:—

In addition 113 children were admitted for the surgical removal of
unhealthy tonsils and adenoids. All made good recoveries. The
routine length of stay in the ward for this operation is 5 days. Specially
delicate children are admitted earlier and kept longer afterwards.
