Maternal Deaths.—The Council agreed that the investigation of
maternal deaths should continue to be carried out on the lines suggested
by the Ministry of Health. There were 5 deaths associated with
pregnancy, etc., investigated and the maternal mortality rate was 2.30
per 1,000 total births (live and still.) See list, page 128.
