[Report of the Medical Officer of Health for Poplar, Metropolitan Borough]

One sample of drinking water was examined and gave a negative
result.
Three swabs examined for meningococci gave negative results.
Cultures from one vaginal smear showed moderate growth of
staphylococci, short chain streptococci and B. coli. Scanty growth of
Neiser-positive bacilli resembling K.L.B.
All but one of the examinations were carried out at the Seamen's
Hospital, Greenwich.
Smallpox.
No cases of Smallpox were notified during the year.
Vaccination.
