Bacteriological Examination of Samples of Milk
for Tuberculosis.
In August, 1930, the Medical Officer of Health for the County
forwarded particulars of samples of milk taken in the Poplar Borough by
his inspectors for examination for the presence of the tubercle bacillus.
Two of the samples had given positive results. Further samples were
taken by our own inspector and again two positive results were given.
The facts were communicated to the County Medical Officer of Health
who, in October, replied that the milk was traced to a particular farm
and two cows were slaughtered under the Tuberculosis Order.
