BACTERIOLOGICAL EXAMINATIONS.
2,140 swabbings from doubtful cases of diphtheria were examined.
Of these, 312 gave positive results (14.6 per cent.).
4 blood specimens from doubtful cases of Enteric Fever were examined.
2 positive results were obtained.
These examinations were carried out at Seamen's Hospital, Greenwich.
SMALLPOX.
The outbreak of Smallpox, which commenced in Poplar in March,
1928, continued through 1929 and 1930.
