The Council has taken advantage of the arrangements made by the
London County Council with the Victoria Park Chest Hospital for certain
patients to receive artificial sunlight treatment.
With reference to the Public Health (Tuberculosis) Regulations,
1925, which state that:—
"No person who is aware that he is suffering from Tuberculosis
of the respiratory tract shall enter upon any employment or occupation
in connection with a dairy which would involve the milking
of cows, the treatment of milk, or the handling of vessels used for
containing milk."
the Public Health and Housing Committee authorised the circularising
of all dairymen in the Borough, pointing out the advisability of examination
of all persons engaged in the milk trade, and informing them that
all facilities would be afforded them for examination by the Tuberculosis
Officer at the Council's Dispensary. Advantage was taken of this by
many of the men employed in the trade.
