Of the 383 samples of milk, 45 were procured on Sundays from
itinerant vendors and 144 from itinerant vendors on weekdays. Seven
samples purchased from itinerant vendors were not in accordance with
the legal standard and proceedings were instituted in three cases and
letters of caution sent in two. In one case an "appeal to cow"
sample was taken subsequently.
Samples were taken on delivery as follows :—Poplar Institution, 5 ;
Poplar Hospital, 4; and St. Andrew's Hospital, 4. All these samples
were genuine.
