L.C.C. Bye-laws.
SMOKE NUISANCES.
109 smoke nuisances were dealt with during the year :—24 Bow
East, 2 Bow West, 27 Bromley North, 22 Bromley Central, 9 East
Combined, 13 West Combined, and 12 Poplar South. Two summonses
were issued, see pages 69 and 70.

CANAL BOATS.

For the year ended 31st December, 1925, the inspections and reports of the Inspectors respecting registered and non-registered canal boats were as follows:—

t There is no canal in the East Combined and Poplar South Divisions; the
Inspectors deputise, when necessary, for other Inspectors.
If Mr. H. J. Langley reported "Although there are many canal boats that
sail through Bromley Reach, they do not stop until they arrive at Bromley
Lock, therefore I have not paid a visit to any canal boat."
* Mr. W. Johnson reported one boat was overcrowded through carrying
an extra boy (during holidays). In another case, repainting of woodwork was
necessary, and in a third the boat was not marked or numbered, and was unoccupied
at time of visit.
** Mr. A. J. Field reported that one registered boat was visited twice.

Verminous rooms are still brought to the notice of owners upon the
"Intimations," which are followed, if necessary, by "Statutory Notices."
