Spraying and Cleansing Floors of London County Council

3,310 gallons were supplied to eight London County Council Public
Elementary Schools for spraying and cleansing floors of classrooms.
Swimming Baths, the use therein of the Electrolytic Fluid.
The fluid continues to be added to the water in the swimming baths
in the same quantity and strength as mentioned in the Annual Report
for the year 1909, viz., 1 part of Chlorine to 2,000,000 parts of water.
4,241 gallons were supplied to the Poplar Baths, 3,919 gallons to the
Bow Baths, 2,295 gallons to the Island Baths, and 1,096 gallons to the
open-air swimming baths, making a total of 11,551 gallons.
Mill wall Open-Air Swimming Bath
An open-air swimming bath was opened at Millwall on 26th June,
1925. On account of complaints as to the serious condition of the water,
the District Sanitary Inspector and myself made many visits, and on
the 13th July, 1925, I communicated with the London County Council,
pointing out that the water was exceedingly dirty and that the bathers
complained of the slimy condition of the sides and bottom of the bath
and steps. I also submitted to the London County Council a report by
Mr. A. E. Parkes, the Public Analyst, upon some samples of the water.
There is no doubt that the state of affairs which was existing was a
menace to the public health.
