676 verminous school children (70 boys and 606 girls) belonging
to the Borough, and 222 school children (23 boys and 199 girls)
residing outside the Borough were bathed and their olothes were
disinfested.
861 children (388 boys and 481 girls) and 64 adults (41 male and
23 female) suffering from scabies were similarly dealt with.
Miss Tattersall made 414 visits in connection with verminous
school children—194 Poplar, 198 Bromley, and 22 Bow.

Itch Cases.
Miss Tattersall made 118 visits in connection with children suffering
from itch—41 Poplar, 57 Bromley, and 20 Bow.
CLEANSING OF PERSONS ACT, 1897.
During the year 62 persons (36 men and 26 women—including
28 (14 men and 14 women) from Common Lodging Houses—see below)
had applied for baths and for their clothes to be disinfested. Since
the notices were posted throughout the Borough, a total of 6,474
persons, exclusive of non-residents, had applied for baths, etc., as
mentioned above.

The following number of persons from Common Lodging Houses
within and without the Borough of Poplar were cleansed at the Council's
