SPOTTED FEVER. EPIDEMIC CEREBRO-SPINAL MENINGITIS.1 Number of Cases. Eight cases occurred within the Borough—2 Poplar, 4 Bromley, and 2 Bow.

Five patients died from Cerebro-Spinal Meningitis—-1 Poplar, 1
Bromley and 3 Bow.
ACUTE POLIO-MYELITIS, OR ACUTE POLIOENCEPHALITIS,
AND ACUTE ENCEPHALITIS
LETHARGICA
No cases of Polio-myelitis were notified.
One case of Polio-encephalitis occurred in Bromley Sub-District.
Patient died at home.
Seven cases of Encephalitis Lethargica occurred—2 in Poplar. 3 in
Bromley and 2 in Bow.
* Posterior basal meningitis is included in the term " cerebro-spinal fever," which
does not include meningitis due to tuberculosis, syphilis, middle ear disease, or injury
