DEATHS FROM DROWNING, ETC., AND DEATHS OF PERSONS OF UNKNOWN ADDRESSES INCLUDED IN THE MORTALITY STATISTICS.

The following deaths have been included in the Mortality Statistics of the respective Sub-districts as there is no reason for believing that such deaths will be shown in the Mortality Tables of any other District:— Poplar (Sub-District).

6th Mar. Millwall Docks.Unknown.Male, 35.Found dead. Suffocation by drowning, but how deceased got into the water and was so drowned evidence fails to prove. Inquest.
9th Mar. River Thames, off Maconochies' WharfUnknown.Female, about 5 minutesViolent. Hemorrhage from umbilical cord due to the cord not having been tied, and want of attention at birth, but under what circumstances evidence fails to prove. Inquest.
15th April. River Thames, off Blackwall Stairs.Unknown.Male, about 5 minutes.Found dead. Want of attention at birth, but under what circumstances the said male child was born and died evidence fails to prove. Inquest.
28th May. East Ferry Road.Unknown.Male. half-hour.Violent. Asphyxia by strangulation. Murder. Inquest.
29th Aug. Millwall Docks.Fireman, s.s. Noelle, Ireland.Male, 23.Violent. Suffocation by drowning caused by falling overboard while trying to sit on the rail while under the influence of alcohol. Inquest.
6th Dec. River Thames, off Morton's Wharf.Unknown.Female, 5 minutes.Found dead. Lack of attention at birth. Inquest.
