Addendum to Annual Report, 1917.
Sir,
The Local Authorities (Food Control) Order No. 1, 1917.
Since undertaking additional duties imposed by the Borough
Council under seal on the 17th May, 1917, under the above Order, much
time and unremitting attention has necessarily been devoted in an
endeavour to satisfactorily discharge the duties imposed by the ever
increasing complex and varied Orders which are from time to time issued,
the imposition of which has gradually become a severe tax and most
difficult to cope with. I trust this matter will be given due consideration
should I be re-appointed.
Many inquiries and test purchases have been made entailing much
correspondence and special journeys both within and outside the District.
