Preservatives in Butter.
Of the 133 samples of butter, 85 contained percentages of boric
acid as follows :—
43 samples contained 0.1 per cent.

Preservatives in Margarine.
Of the 69 samples of margarine, 50 contained percentages of boric
acid as follows:—
21 samples contained 0.1 per cent.

6 ,, 0.3
Margarine Act, 1887, Sale of Food and Drugs Act, 1899,
and the Butter and Margarine Act, 1907.
No application was received to register premises for the carrying
on of businesses of wholesale dealers in margarine and milk blended
butter.
