In this connection I am to refer you to page 41 of the Nomenclature
of Diseases drawn up by the Royal College of Physicians
(Ed. 1906), where two special forms of purulent conjunctivitis are
described : (1) Gonorrhæl; (2) From other genital discharges, and
a note is added to the effect that " purulent ophthalmia of new-born
infants may belong to either of these two forms, and should be
noted as Ophthalmia Neonatorum."

AGE MORTALITY.
The number of deaths from one year to 65 years of age was 543 for
Poplar, 582 for Bromley, and for Bow 339, making a total for the Borough
of Poplar of 1464. The annual death rates per 1,000 living for the past
nineteen years being :—
