Of the samples of Butter 36 contained percentages of boric acid as
follows :—
0.1%; 0.12%; 0.12%; 0.1%; 0.2%; 0.1%; 0.1%; 0.1%;
0.25%; 0.1%; 0.3%; 0.2%; 0.2%: 0.1%; 0.1%; 0.2%; 0.1%;
0.1%; 0.1%; 0.1%; 0.1%; 0.1%; 0.2%: 0.1%; 0.1%; 0.1%;
0.3%; 0.4%; 0.2%; 0.1%; 0.3%; 0.1%; 0.3%; 0.1%; 0.1%;
and 0.1%.
Preservatives in Margarine.
Of the samples of Margarine 15 contained percentages of boric acid
as follows :—
0.1%; 0.1%; 0.1%; 0.2%; 0.2%; 0.5%; 0.2%; 0.3%; 0.1%;
0.1% ; 0.2%; 0.3% ; 0.1% ; 0.1% ; and 0.2%.
Margarine Act, 1887, Sale of Food and Drugs Act, 1899,
and the Butter and Margarine Act, 1907.

In Bromley the premises of one vendor are registered both for

butter.
