Notifications of parishioners from Institutions (excluding cases which had been notified before admission) within the sub-districts of Poplar and Bromley were as follows :—

Of the 349 patients notified in Poplar, 215 were removed to hospitals
and institutions; of the 462 in Bromley 280 were isolated, and of the 291
in Bow 198 were removed, so that of a total of 1102 notifiable diseases
in the Borough 693 patients had been removed from their homes.
Errors in Diagnosis.
In giving the above numbers of notifications, no deductions have
been made for the following cases, which it will be seen developed other
diseases either shortly after admission or after being in the hospital some
time, whilst the list also shows that some patients removed to the Metropolitan
Asylums Board's hospitals, after being detained in those institutions
some days, were returned home certified as not suffering from the
complaint or any other notifiable disease.
