III.—Comparison of rates of mortality between infants:—
Breast fed 8.71
Mixed feeding 11.83
Hand fed 47.05

The figures following are based on the 502 cases, in which the first visit was paid my myself:—

I.—Mothers working during pregnancy2908
Rate of mortality amongst infants whose mothers worked during pregnancy7.53
Rate of mortality amongst infants whose mothers worked after the birth of child3.73
II.—Families occupying 1 room per family19.92
2 rooms „36.66

I regret very much that it is impossible to give percentages relating
to mothers working after the birth of the child, or the relative rate of
mortality between the infants of working and non-working mothers owing
to the fact that the case sheets change hands and the information is not
tabulated by the voluntary workers, but during my re-visits I found that
107 mothers worked after the birth of the child, and that 62 families
received Parish Relief some time during the year.
I remain, Sir,
Yours obediently,
ALICE E. HALL,
