Overcrowding.
During the year only four complaints of overcrowding were
received; in each case the nuisances were abated after the service of
intimation and statutory notices without recourse to legal proceedings.
Ice Cream Manufacturers and Itinerant Vendors.
All the premises where ice cream is made have been inspected with
the view of detecting nuisances, also any infringement of the London
County Council's (General Powers) Act, 1902, Part viii. Each itinerant
vendor's barrow and utensils have been inspected. In each case the
manufacturer's name was found to be legibly affixed thereto, the ice
cream and utensils were found to be satisfactory, no cause for action to
be taken.
Cleansing of Cisterns (Bye-laws wider Section 50).
The cisterns of the undermentioned buildings have been inspected
during the year, and duly reported upon. Where covers were found to
be defective, have since been amended, and made as far as practicable
dustproof. Each cistern is so situated as to be free from pollution:—
Adelaide Buildings 2, Baffins Buildings 2, Grosvenor Buildings
55, Hudson's Buildings 2, Melbourne Buildings 4, Montreal
Buildings 4, Ontario Buildings 4, Ottawa Buildings 4, Prestage
Buildings 6, Quebec Buildings 4, Council Buildings 5, St. Lawrence
Cottages, Norfolk Street 14, Sydney Buildings 4, Toronto Buildings

Outworkers.
The premises where male outworkers live and work have been
inspected, and notices to cleanse the premises have been served where
required.
London County Council (General Powers) Act, 1904, Section 20.
During the year, on inspection, 12 rooms were found to be in a
verminous condition. Intimations, also Statutory Notices where necessary
were served, and the nuisances satisfactorily abated, without recourse
to legal proceedings.
