Vaccination Act, 1907.
7 Edw. 7, Cap. 31.
The object of this statute is to substitute a statutory declaration for
the certificate from two justices (or a stipendiary magistrate), which was
required under the Vaccination Acts, 1898 (61 and 62 Vict. c. 49), as
evidence that the parent or other person in charge of a child conscientiously
believes that vaccination would be prejudicial to the health of the child.
Difficulty has arisen from the varying standard which magistrates
have applied to the conscientious belief of the parent.
