On account of the alleged improper return home of a patient
from the Brook Fever Hospital in an infected state on 6th January,
and his return being followed by the removal of the three other
children with scarlet fever1 on the 11th and 13th January,
and complaints of similar cases having been made to the Metropolitan
Asylums Board by the Stepney Borough Council, the Public
