With respect to this sample of cod liver oil, the Magistrate
held, under Section 16 of the Summary Jurisdiction Act, 1879,
that though the charge was proved, the offence in this case was
of so trifling a nature that it was inexpedient to inflict any punishment,
and he therefore, without convicting, dismissed the summons,
