ruary. The patient was immediately removed, notice given to the
Vaccination Officer, and the premises disinfected. The second case
was notified on the 9th March, 16 days later, and was a boy, aged 10
years, the son of the first patient. In the Hackney district five in a
family, relatives of the above patients, it was stated, had been suffering
from the complaint. Five children at home (in the Bromley case),
three of whom had been re-vaccinated, were free from Small-pox.
Mr. Hitchins, the Vaccination Officer, has kindly furnished me
with the following statistics, which are copied from those forwarded
to the Local Government Board :—
