The year 1961 did not see the introduction of many new
regulations concerning the quality of food and drugs, but the whole
matter in one aspect or another is always under constant review.
The Orders issued dealt with the following matters:—
The alcohol content in a wine derived from fermented
grape juice need no longer be declared. Certain regulations
about poisons have been made. The Lead in Food
Regulations fixes a maximum limit for lead in foods.
In conclusion 1 would say that 1961 may be regarded as a year
which was generally satisfactory.
