The Central Council for Health Education produces excellent
pamphlets on subjects which are essential to public health such as
food hygiene and the prevention of disease. The Royal Society for
the Prevention of Accidents covers a wide field but its Home Safety
work is of most interest to the Department. The ageing population
continues to make increasing demands on the Old People's Welfare
Committee and the meals-on-wheels services.
