SANITARY INSPECTORS' WORK.—The summary of the Sanitary Inspectors' work given below does not include
work in connection with factories or bakehouses. This is given in the appropriate section of the Report. One Inspector
is responsible for canal boats and another for work in connection with the Rag Flock Act 1951. Reports on their work
will be found in the respective sections.

During the year the fifteen inspectors' districts into which the Borough is divided were grouped into four areas.
In each Area one Inspector supervises the other District Inspectors in addition to dealing with his own district. The
woman Sanitary Inspector deals with outworkers and shops (except food shops). In conjunction with the Visitor
she visits cases of infectious disease and aged persons.
MEDICINAL BATHS and DISINFECTING STATION.—The tables below give a summary of the work done at the
Medicinal Baths, and by the Disinfecting and Fumigation Operatives.
