Note.—There are an unknown number of residential establishments (probably several hundreds) which

Milk Licences.—Licences in force at the end of the year are given in the table below.

Dealers' supplementary licences enable holders to sell milk in the Borough from premises outside the Borough
on condition that they hold principal licences from the authorities concerned.
The Milk (Special Designations) (Specified Areas) Order came into operation on the 1st October, 1951. All milk
sold by retail in the Borough, amongst other specified areas, must now be designated milk. This is another step in the
long journey to safeguard the public from milk borne infections begun by the Milk (Special Designations) Regulations
in 1923.
SHOPS ACTS.—The Shops Acts Inspectors made 1,500 (1,591) visits. No notices were served, all contraventions being
dealt with informally.
MASS RADIOGRAPHY.—The North-West Metropolitan Regional Hospital Board installed an X-ray Unit at the
Welfare Centre at 283a, Harrow Road from the 8th to the 27th February and below is a summary of the work done.
The figures in brackets relate to the work of the Unit in 1949, when it last operated in the Borough. The figures have
been supplied by the Liaison Officer of the Unit.
