RAG FLOCK AND OTHER FILLING MATERIALS ACT, 1951.—The Act came into force on the 1st November, 1951.
Premises where any filling material specified in the Act is used, such as in upholstery and the stuffing of toys, must
be registered with the local authority. Rag flock intended for filling may only be supplied for use to registered premises.
Premises where rag flock is manufactured or stored must be licensed.
At the end of the year five premises had been registered where filling material was being used. There are no
premises in the Borough at present where rag flock is manufactured or stored. The statutory fee for the registration
of premises is £1.
SLAUGHTER OF ANIMALS ACT, 1933.—One licence to act as a slaughterman was applied for and granted during
the year.
LONDON COUNTY COUNCIL (GENERAL POWERS) ACT, 1951.—Section 8 of this Act enables a charge to be made
against the premises when work is done by the Council under the Public Health (London) Act, 1936. This section was
used in one case during: the vear when an owner failed to coitidIv with a Nuisance Notice.
