Next year, after July 5th, vaccination will no longer be compulsory. It is interesting to note that by voluntary
methods an enlightened populace has been persuaded to have diphtheria immunisation to a greater extent than they
could be persuaded to have vaccination as a compulsory requirement. So far there has been no indication of the
Ministry of Health's policy after the appointed day, but vaccination is to be made available to all free of charge.
