During the year two vacancies occurred in the 150 houses on the Wormholt Estate (1927-28
Agreements), and five vacancies in the 236 houses provided under the 1934 Agreement. Altogether
the Agreements entered into by the Borough Council have resulted in 477 families obtaining improved
housing conditions.
On the 27th October, 1938, the Council agreed to continue the 1934 Agreement with the London
County Council on a revised basis of contribution of £4 10s. Od. per dwelling a year, to take effect
from the 1st January, 1939.

Borough Council Accommodation within the Borough.

The flats at Dudley House were completed ready for occupation on the 1st September, 1938,
and tenants selected from families displaced as a result of the Council's operations under the Housing
Act, 1936, are being re-housed therein. The accommodation consists of fifteen four-roomed flats,
twenty-five three-roomed flats, and ten two-roomed flats, and will provide accommodation for some
232 persons.
Schemes under Consideration.
Chippenham and Rodborough Mews, and Woodficld Crescent.
It is proposed to erect fifty-four flats on this site. The accommodation will comprise sixteen
four-roomed flats, twenty-one three-roomed flats, thirteen two-roomed flats, and four one-roomed
fiats. The accommodation will house some 235 persons.
Clarendon Street Redevelopment Area.
A scheme to erect several hundred working-class flats on this site is at present under consideration.
Accommodation Provided in the Borough by Private Enterprise.
Dibdin House.
A block of 160 flats at the Carlton Vale end of Maida Vale was completed for the Ecclesiastical
Commissioners for England during the year. The entire scheme provides for 233 flats. The completed
portion has been erected in accordance with the provisions of the Housing Acts, 1930-1936,
under which subsidies from the Government and the London County Council are obtainable. The
selected tenants were nominated by the London County Council and were drawn from persons
displaced in Paddington and adjoining Boroughs in connection with operations under the Housing
Act. Thirty displaced families from Paddington secured accommodation.
