A census, taken at midnight on llth/12th February, showed the number of beds occupied at
each common lodging house as follows:—
268 and 270, Kilbum Lane 23
272, 274 and 276, Kilbum Lane 40
Cecil House, 179, Harrow Road 37
Three deaths occurred among the occupants during the year. No cases of infectious disease
were notified.
RENT AND MORTGAGE INTEREST (RESTRICTIONS) ACTS, 1920-1933.
Seven applications for certificates were made, all of which were granted; in 1 instance a certificate
that the necessary repairs had been carried out to the satisfaction of the Sanitary Authority was
subsequently issued.
In several instances the attention of owners was called to the fact that rent books did not contain
the particulars required by the Acts, and in 10 cases legal proceedings were instituted, the results
of which are shown on page 64.
