INFANTILE MORTALITY.
During the year 1935 there were 1,964 births, and 140 deaths of children under the age of twelve
months in the Borough. These figures give an infantile mortality rate (deaths of infants under twelve
months to each 1,000 births) of 71.

The following table gives the births and the infantile deaths and death-rates for the year 1935 in England and Wales, in London, in the Borough and in the various wards of the Borough. The infantile mortality rates for 1930 to 1934 are given for comparison.
